Job Title: Senior Designer / Project Manager 

Christie Leu Interiors is seeking an experienced Senior Designer / Project Manager who is passionate about design and systems and who is detail-oriented and knowledgeable in high-end design and managing construction projects.

The successful candidate will demonstrate key managerial skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively. The Designer will work successfully in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and cohesive team environment. 

Daily Tasks

  1. Take interior renovation / design projects from commencement to completion.

  2. Manage 5-10 projects simultaneously.

  3. Create concept presentations and material/equipment selection utilizing extensive knowledge of products including finishes and textures.

  4. Create project documentation and timelines, including construction schedules and project budgets.

  5. Interface with architects and contractors. 

  6. Conduct project site visits and meetings  to coordinate and verify work.

  7. Coordinate with procurement manager for FF&E.

  8. Oversee installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment.

  9. Lead project close-out process including punch list walk through and resolution, create client completion binder.

Client-Oriented Duties 

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with current clients by using proactive communication and customer service skills to manage expectations and update clients on their projects . 

  2. Prepare and present agendas for all site and client meetings.

  3. Prepare notes from all site and client meetings.

  4. Generate new business leads and actively communicate with potential clients and contractors.

About You

  1. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  2. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to create innovative solutions.

  3. Knowledge of how to create and apply technical drawings, schedules and budgets.

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients, contractors and vendors efficiently and productively.

  5. A strong design aesthetic and flexibility to work with different design elements based on client’s requirements. 

  6. Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, sharing knowledge with team members and mentoring interns, as required.  

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a design-related field preferred.

  2. 2-4 years of design and project management experience in design and construction. 

  3. Working knowledge of CAD. Additional experience with Design Manager or similar, Excel, Revit, Google Sketch Up, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is helpful.

  4. Must have own transportation, laptop and phone. Ideal candidates will live within 30 minutes of Chevy Chase, MD.
